It was a free session for new players, with a small 90 THB contribution per person for court and ball costs. Equipment rental is available. We paid 260 THB total for a 2-hour session for two people, which felt incredibly generous for such a comprehensive and enjoyable experience. Khun Mod, our instructor, was absolutely wonderful. She patiently shared all the essential knowledge, ensuring every one of us, even complete beginners, understood the rules, scoring, and could confidently get started playing. The class atmosphere was incredibly friendly and fun with a group of 6-8 people. After the informative session, we got to practice and play, which was brilliant! What I loved most was the welcoming vibe. You don't need any prior experience, just bring your good energy and be ready to have fun. Open play is 2h/ 75 baht, 3h/ 90 baht, and there were pickleballers actively playing to 7 and 11 points across the three courts."

BYC has a professional Pickleball Court surface, the lines are specifically for Pickleball and are very clear, the regular players are skilled (most 3.5+), everyone is very welcoming and most players have good English skills. To top it all off, the courts are indoors with a very high roof !! I was in Chiang Mai for just under 1 month and started immediately playing every day throughout Chiang Mai, including several times at Imperial and also at the public Hai Ya courts. Ultimately I settled into playing just at BYC Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday so that I could have a consistently good surface and improve faster. Imperial is scenic but it is outside and the court surface is slick concrete so the ball bounce is poor and it can be slippery unless you have great footwear. Hai Ya courts are friendly, very cheap and well located. However you will spend significant time (up to 30+ minutes) waiting for your turn using a rack system and it is hard to get hard games at 3.5+ level. These courts being outside means they are negatively effected by weather and air quality. BYC Indoor Pickleball Courts are further out of town, but the grab or bolt trip was definately worth it, as the play is almost constant and of a high level. I was also fortunate to have some new friends at BYC drive me home afterwards. When I come back to Chiang Mai, I will definately come back exclusively to BYC Indoor Pickleball Courts at every opportunity."
