Built here. Still here.
BYC opened in April 2022 with three indoor courts and a simple idea: sport gets people moving, nature gets people breathing, and if you put both in one place, people stick around. They did.

OUR STORY · DOI SAKET, CHIANG MAI
WHO WE ARE
"Sport gets people moving. Nature gets people breathing. Put both in one place, and people stick around."
BYC Pickleball & More is Chiang Mai's community sport and wellness hub — three indoor courts, an expanding programme of nature experiences, and a community that now spans locals, expats, digital nomads, families, and travellers from across Southeast Asia and beyond.
We're not a gym. We're not a resort. We're a place — a specific place in the green hills of Doi Saket — that keeps getting better because the people who use it keep coming back and bringing others with them.
What started as three pickleball courts has grown into a full hub for pickleball, badminton, table tennis, coaching, competitive leagues, hill tribe experiences, jungle treks, coffee farm tours, and more. And we are just getting started.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Every milestone here came from the same direction: people showing up, liking what they found, and telling others. Not advertising. Not growth hacking. Just a good place doing honest work.
A short history of a place that grew
APRIL 2022
BYC opens in Doi Saket
Three indoor pickleball courts in the hills northeast of Chiang Mai. The idea was straightforward — a sport that's easy to pick up, an indoor space that works year-round, and a location that puts you next to nature rather than traffic. We had no idea how many people were looking for exactly this.
2023
Community takes root
Players started bringing their friends. Expats found us through word of mouth. Travellers stopped in for a session and booked coaching before they left. A Facebook group grew into two, one for pickleball, one for badminton, each with an active community of players organising their own games. We started running DUPR rating sessions and entered our first regional tournament circuit.
2024
Beyond the court
We started running nature experiences such as hill tribe coffee tours, bamboo river floats, elephant sanctuary days, jungle living sessions in Mae Wang. These weren't a pivot away from sport. They were sport's natural extension. The same belief: get outside, move your body, meet people. We also reached 500 students through our school outreach programme, bringing pickleball into physical education classes across Chiang Mai.
MAY 2025
Rebrand — BYC Pickleball & More
We expanded the court capacity, added badminton and table tennis formally to the programme, and launched our full wellness offering. The rebrand reflected what BYC had already become, not just a pickleball venue, but a hub for active living in Chiang Mai. Every session runs by appointment. Every player gets a court.
OCTOBER 2025
Standout Pickleball Thailand — acquired
We acquired Standout Pickleball Thailand outright, becoming the exclusive importer and distributor for Standout Pickleball Australia — paddles and equipment used by national-level players across the region. This partnership didn't come first. It came after we had already built a place worth bringing serious gear to.
NOW - 2026
1,000 students. More courts. Same mission.
Our target for 2026 is 1,000 students reached through our sport education programme, with a specific focus on young women and girls building confidence through pickleball. We're expanding our curated experiences, deepening our Karen community partnerships, and continuing to grow BYC as the most welcoming active lifestyle destination in Northern Thailand.
BYC opened in April 2022 in the hills of Doi Saket, a three-court indoor pickleball facility. The idea was simple. Sport gets people moving. Nature gets people breathing. Put both in one place, and people stick around.
What started as a few courts became something bigger. In May 2025, we rebranded as your hub for pickleball, badminton, table tennis, and wellness in Chiang Mai, adding court capacity and building out our wellness programs. Pickleball, badminton, and ping pong, run by appointment so every session actually has room for you. Coaching from someone who takes total beginners seriously. Jungle treks and coffee tours that get people out of the city and into the hills.
We're also Thailand's exclusive partner for Standout Pickleball, an Australian brand whose paddles and equipment are used by national-level players. We acquired Standout Pickleball Thailand outright in October 2025. That partnership didn't come first. It came after we'd already built a place worth bringing serious gear to.
BYC Pickleball & More is run by BYC Sports & More Co., Ltd., based here in Chiang Mai.

Four ways to find your place at BYC

Kru Mod
Assistant Professor Rachada Dangchamroon (ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์รัชดา แดงจำรูญ), affectionately known to the BYC community as Kru Mod (อ.มด), is the co-founder and owner of BYC Pickleball & More. She leads the club's coaching programs and oversees the day-to-day operations, ensuring every player enjoys a welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable experience from the moment they arrive.
With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, Kru Mod has dedicated her career to helping people learn, communicate, and grow. She served as a faculty member at Assumption University (ABAC) for nearly three decades and currently teaches at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Chiang Mai University, and the Faculty of Business Administration, Maejo University. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Mass Communication from Chulalongkorn University, and was awarded the St. De La Salle Award for Commendable Service at the AU Awards for Excellence 2020 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to education.
Beyond the classroom, Kru Mod has worked as a journalist, editor, translator, interpreter, communication trainer, and author of academic publications in communication and media studies. She has also translated several health and self-development books into Thai, reflecting her passion for making knowledge practical and accessible.
On the court, she brings the same clarity, patience, and structured teaching approach that defined her academic career. Whether introducing someone to pickleball for the very first time or helping experienced players refine their third-shot drop, footwork, or court positioning, Kru Mod breaks each skill into simple, practical steps that build confidence and lasting improvement. Her ability to coach fluently in both Thai and English makes BYC a welcoming destination for local players and visitors from around the world.
Beyond coaching, Kru Mod is the heart of BYC's daily operations. She manages court bookings, organizes open play sessions, and ensures every guest feels comfortable, supported, and part of the BYC family. Her philosophy is simple: great coaching isn't just about improving technique—it's about helping people enjoy the game, build confidence, and discover a lifelong love for sport.
Meet the Founders

Singh
"BYC isn't just about playing pickleball. It's about creating a place where everyone feels welcome, friendships are built, and healthier lives begin."
Komsan "Singh" Singhatong is a communications strategist, entrepreneur, and community builder with more than two decades of experience helping organizations build trusted brands, meaningful relationships, and engaged communities through authentic communication and purposeful leadership.
Before co-founding BYC Pickleball & More, Singh built a diverse career spanning multinational corporations, higher education, journalism, and regional public service. He held communications and marketing leadership roles with global companies including Ford, Nissan, Bridgestone, and AkzoNobel, where he specialized in corporate communications, public relations, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility. He later led marketing, communications, and student recruitment initiatives for Wellington College International School Bangkok, BASIS International School Bangkok, Thammasat University's School of Global Studies, and the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University, helping institutions strengthen their reputation and connect with students, parents, and international partners.
Alongside his corporate and education career, Singh wrote as a columnist for The Nation newspaper, where his passion for storytelling reinforced his belief that effective communication begins with listening, understanding, and building trust. His experience across journalism, marketing, and communications continues to shape a leadership style grounded in authenticity, curiosity, and meaningful engagement.
After relocating to Chiang Mai in 2021, Singh discovered pickleball and saw more than just one of the world's fastest-growing sports—he saw an opportunity to build a community. What began with introducing friends to the game soon evolved into BYC Pickleball & More, a welcoming space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels can stay active, build friendships, and enjoy the many physical and social benefits of sport. His vision has since expanded beyond the court, promoting pickleball as a catalyst for wellness, sports tourism, lifelong learning, and community connection throughout Northern Thailand.
Today, Singh leads BYC's strategic direction, marketing, partnerships, and business development while serving as the official importer and distributor of Standout Pickleball in Thailand. He also serves as Communications Lead for the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC), supporting regional communications initiatives that advance awareness and collaboration across Southeast Asia. Across every role, his mission remains the same: to bring people together, create meaningful experiences, and build stronger communities through communication, education, entrepreneurship, and sport.
