BYC Pickleball & More is more than a club — it’s a shared space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities come together to connect, play, and grow. Through pickleball, wellness activities, and community events, we inspire healthier lifestyles, deeper friendships, and a sense of belonging.
We believe in movement as a pathway to healing, happiness, and hope. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time, returning to sport after surgery, or simply seeking connection, you’ll find support here — and people cheering you on every step of the way.
Founded in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in November 2023, BYC Pickleball & More was born as a heartfelt initiative to bring light, movement, laughter, and a sense of belonging into people’s lives. What started with a few pickleball paddles and a shared vision has since grown into a vibrant community hub — a place where wellness, connection, and joy take center stage.
At the core of BYC is a simple but powerful belief: that active, compassionate living can transform lives. Whether you're picking up a paddle for the first time, joining a weekend wellness circle, or just stopping by to chat — you’re part of something bigger.
Co-founded by Singh and Mod, two passionate community builders with deep experience across education, journalism, corporate citizenship, and customer experience, BYC is more than just a pickleball court. It’s a space designed with heart — a living, breathing environment where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to move, heal, laugh, and grow.
From introducing pickleball to beginners to hosting intergenerational play days and wellness events, BYC continues to expand its mission: to inspire healthier, more connected communities across Chiang Mai and beyond.
With over 16 years of professional experience, I’ve always believed that the heart of any successful organization beats with its customer experience. My career began with more than a decade in the corporate world, spanning communications, PR, sales promotion, and retail management across both B2B and B2C sectors. I later transitioned to lead marketing and student recruitment for some of Thailand’s top international schools and universities.
During my corporate years, I had the privilege of leading impactful regional CSR initiatives, including:
Ford Volunteer Corps, Ford Safety Driving Projects, and Ford Environmental Grants — where I oversaw the distribution of over USD $1.12 million in community grants across seven ASEAN countries.
Partnerships with Habitat for Humanity, deploying 24 volunteer teams and over 500 Thai and Foreign automotive employees to rebuild homes for tsunami-affected families in Phang-nga.
Nissan Mobile Library delivers books and educational materials to children in remote and underserved areas in Thailand.
Bridgestone’s Lady Driver Education Program promotes road safety and inclusive mobility for women.
One of my earliest and most meaningful projects was Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) — a free global driver safety training initiative customized to meet local needs and cultural contexts. I also managed Ford Environmental Grants, supporting grassroots projects in ASEAN, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and renewable energy.
Long before my corporate journey, in the early 2000s, I was a weekly guest columnist for The Nation newspaper. My column, titled “Komsan’s Kingdom,” ran for two years and offered personal insights into Thai society, culture, and current events, blending journalism with storytelling to engage both Thai and international readers.
I’ve also built online communities that continue to grow. I’m the founder and moderator of the International Schools in Thailand Chat Facebook group — a thriving forum of over 21,000 members dedicated to discussing all aspects of international education in Thailand. The group remains one of the most active spaces for parents, educators, and stakeholders to share news, ask questions, offer reviews, and exchange ideas.
In 2022, following the passing of my father, I relocated to Chiang Mai — a move that became both a turning point in my life and a heartfelt tribute. My dad loved Chiang Mai deeply and had no desire to return to Bangkok. He founded Aura Mineral Water in Mae Rim and chose to stay here, drawn by the region’s natural beauty, calm, and strong sense of community.
Earlier in life, while stationed in the Philippines with one of the largest alcohol beverage companies, he was a constant source of encouragement — especially when it came to my love of tennis. He supported me playing at De La Salle Zobel in the Philippines and later as a varsity athlete at Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of hitting balls with him on our backyard court.
He loved animals, laughter, and bringing people together — values that continue to shape the space I’ve created in his honor here in Chiang Mai.
Founding BYC Pickleball & More has enabled me to integrate everything I’ve learned — from customer journey design to grassroots community building — into a vibrant, inclusive space for wellness, connection, and joyful movement. The spirit of my dad lives on in every game played, every pet adopted, and every friendship formed here.
With over 25 years of experience in education, communication, and bilingual content development, I’ve devoted my career to helping people connect through language, storytelling, and learning.
My journey in journalism began at the Pacific News Agency, where I covered major events, including regional events such as the APEC Summit. I then spent more than two decades as an Assistant Professor at Assumption University, teaching communication, media, and English, while also leading student publications, training programs, and performance communication projects.
As a writer, I’ve contributed to news agencies, magazines, and online platforms, driven by a deep curiosity and a passion for making complex ideas accessible. Whether ghostwriting, translating, or mentoring young writers, I believe in the power of words to foster understanding and bridge cultural divides.
Recently, I’ve found a new passion: teaching pickleball to beginners. It has been gratifying to witness students grow not just in skill, but also in health, confidence, and connection.
Today, I continue teaching at Chiang Mai University and Maejo University, while co-founding and growing BYC Pickleball & More — a space where learning, laughter, and meaningful connection come together both on and off the court.
