Chiang Mai, Thailand - On August 20, 2023, Coach Piyapon Srirapan, also known as Thai Thom, organized a friendly tournament for players from various clubs. The tournament was held at Backyard Court Chiang Mai (BYC) and was a resounding success.

Over two dozen players participated in the doubles tournament, which was made possible by Coach Thai Thom's expertise in organizing the event, coaching the players, and providing referees and support staff. He has been a dedicated coach for many years, helping players enhance their pickleball skills. Coach Thom is admired for his patience and encouragement, and he is a strong advocate for the sport of pickleball, continuously seeking ways to promote it in Chiang Mai.

The tournament was an outstanding opportunity for players from various clubs to compete and improve their skills. They had the benefit of learning from Coach Thai Thom and other experienced players. Coach Thom and BYC promote drills, tournaments, and coaching as crucial ways players learn from one another. Playing with and watching other players exposes local players to shots, strategies, and teamwork they may not experience by just playing with the same people at their home courts. The event sponsors included Lunar Pickleball, Soulscape Garden, and Thai Life Insurance.

The BYC team takes great pride in organizing this event and eagerly anticipates working with Coach Thai Thom to plan more pickleball tournaments. The next comparable tournament is scheduled to be hosted in mid-October, and we expect everyone to be fully prepared and participate enthusiastically to give their best performances.

Thai Thom is an accomplished player of pickleball who has won multiple tournaments in Thailand and abroad. He is also a highly skilled coach with over 10 years of experience and professional certification. Moreover, he represents Lunar Pickleball on and off the court, demonstrating his commitment to the sport and its community.

Coach Thai Thom is passionate about teaching pickleball and has helped many players improve their skills. He is a patient and encouraging coach, always ensuring his students have fun.
